Iskra is a fast, native x64 text editor for Windows 10 and 11. Built
in C++ without Electron or any web framework, it opens files over
100MB instantly and runs lean on any Windows PC. Features include a
regex search engine, six color themes, auto-save, PDF/HTML/RTF export,
syntax highlighting, window transparency, and typewriter sounds.
Profile Manager allows running multiple independent Iskra instances
simultaneously – each with its own settings, API key, and chat history.
Useful for keeping work and personal projects separate, or running
multiple AI sessions in parallel (limited only by your AI provider’s
token quota).
Iskra includes an optional built-in AI assistant that connects to free
services (Groq, Cloudflare AI, Mistral) directly inside the editor.
Editor access must be explicitly granted by the user – the AI sees only
the selected text and can only modify that selection. Larger AI models
with more parameters produce better responses and more accurate edits.
No telemetry, no tracking, no background services. Free for personal use.
